if the people we love are stolen from us
the way to have them live on
is to never stop loving them.
buildings burn, people die...
but real love is forever.

i can't believe that there's a 43rd birthday party for hide, nearly 10 years after his death...

However, if u look close enuff to this notice, it says tt hide is performing?!? hahaha.. tt would be nice but scary.
anyway, the website has a virtual walkthru of his museum. quite a nice addition.. i was mourning the closing of his museum.. which other musician has a museum dedicated to them? maybe only ppl in the ranks of elvis presley? it closed down 6 months before i went japan... i was so disappointed la.. i wonder where all the stuff went.... there was this huge collection of his funky guitars...

anyway, this birthday party triggered a renewed interest in his legacy...
(btw, he's my no. 1 idol in this world, formidable and irreplaceble. he inspired me to pick up guitar, although i wasn't inspired enuff to ty to play as well as he does...)
so i went to my usual info source, wikipedia!!

and some excerpts abt hide and x japan...

Visual Kei emerged in the late 1980s, pioneered by the band X Japan. [5],
along with others such as D'erlanger and Color, who are regarded
as influencing the fashion and music associated with Visual Kei bands.[20] X
Japan's drummer Yoshiki Hayashi
used the term to describe the band's slogan "Psychedelic Violence Crime of
Visual Shock".

By 1999, mainstream popularity in Visual Kei was declining, X Japan had disbanded, and the death of lead guitarist Hideto Matsumoto in 1998 had denied fans a possible reunion. It wasn't long before Luna Sea decided to disband in the year 2000, and L'Arc-en-Ciel went on a hiatus the same year.[20]

In 2007 the genre has been revitalized, as Luna sea announced they would perform a one-off performance, and X Japan announced they would reunite. With these developments, Visual kei bands enjoyed a boost in public awareness, described by the media as "Neo-Visual Kei". [21].[20]

so anyway, i would be looking forward to the revitalisation of visual j-rock...
however, x japan would never be the same without hide and toshi (toshi was the lead singer, quited due to some weird religious reason)

sigh.. i miss them....
AND I HAVE A STUPID ETHICS TEST TMR!!!

and life still goes on...
