if the people we love are stolen from us
Like a merry-go-round
the way to have them live on
is to never stop loving them.
buildings burn, people die...
but real love is forever.
'The Crow'
which goes round and round
I'll see you again in Spring*
hmmm... today my collegues and I were discussing about the philosophy of love during lunch. according to dictionary meaning, it is supposed to be something like "being willing to sacrifice yourself (eg. time, money, or inconveniencing yourself) for the other party". In other words, there can be no attraction at all, and it is still love. However, what I thought was that if you have no feelings for this person, you wouldn't have sacrificed yourself for that person in the first place. agree?
but then, the other side argued that it would then be just attraction, and not love. and it goes on and on...
I just went to another source to check the meaning of love, and it became:
love n.
1. A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.
2. A feeling of intense desire and attraction toward a person with whom one is disposed to make a pair; the emotion of sex and romance.
so actually different sources said the different things... maybe there's no real meaning to the word at all...
Then, there was this issue as to whether there is actually "True Love" at all.
Is it possible to love a person eternally?
Is it possible that you can accept all the flaws of your partner?
Is it possible that you can even love the flaws of your partner?
Is this idea even vaguely possible?
and life still goes on...
